I had the same problem with Groupwise Web Access until one of the other admins applied some updates on the server. It works as it should now, with the exception of a slight spacing issue at the login screen. We are using version 6.5, but i'm not sure of the specific version after the patch. So you might want to notify your network admin.
The other option that I find very useful is to setup your Groupwise account in Mail as an imap account. I do this and I can see all of my folders in the cabinet, just as I would at work.
It IS a problem with the server.
They fixed it with Groupwise 6.5 server.
Looking forward to Brainshare in March. Hopefully they have the OS X Java client ready.
How exactly does one set Mail to check Groupwise Webaccess email? I tried entering the URL I use in Safari as the incoming and outgoing IMAP server addresses, but that doesn't seem to work. Do I need to get some information from the IT folks?
Thanks in advance.
Jriver media center 20.0.45 for mac os. Yes, you definitely have to contact your IT people to get the server addresses. But, once you've set it up, it's really slick. The only time I use WebAccess is when I'm away from my Mac(s).
Worked perfectly!!! Thanks.
I have experienced none of the problems that youve all listed.
1.2 is MUCH faster now with the SSL stuff, so it is less painfull.
I am just suprised that there are actually other people still using GroupStupid.. I thought we were the last..
I am a lone Mac in a sea of Windows and have suffered using Groupwise WebAccess to get email at work. If there is any info you could pass on to help me set up Mail to get work email I would love to be able to quit using the buggy Groupwise WebAccess! My problem is the IT Dept. here is pretty hostile toward Macs (they wish I would go away). So if I was armed with as much info as possible maybe I could convince them to help me. They know nothing about Macs. Any suggestions as to how or where to educate myself would be a great hint!
Thanks, Hoosker
I too am a mac user in a pc environment. The good news from Novell is that they soon will have a groupwise client for OS X. It is currently in beta.

You can configure Mail to access the Novell mail server.
I'm doing this with Novell's free email service called MyRealbox with an IMAP account, and I've used a POP account in the past. The free email service is at <www.myrealbox.com> and the site includes info about configuring many PC email programs to access their Novell mail server.
While the info is for PC mail programs you just need to pop the needed info into the equivalent places in mail. For example, in Mac OS X 10.3, create a new account and add:
* Account Type: POP
* Description: whatever you want
* Email address: username@somewhere.com
* Full Name: Joe Bloggs
* Incoming Mail Server: your company's incoming mail server (same as on a PC)
* User Name: first part of your email address excluding the '@somewhere.com'
* Password: ********
* Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): your company's outgoing mail server eg 'smtp.myrealbox.com'
That should be enough info to get the account working.
